This notice explains what we do with the details you send through the enquiry form or by email. Last updated 24 September 2026.

Who we are

The Food Consultant is the data controller for the information you give us. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect

• Your name, business name, email address and phone number
• Whatever you tell us about your enquiry

Why we use it

We use it only to reply to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to deliver the work you've asked for. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (replying to a request you made) or contract, once work is agreed. We don't send marketing emails and we never sell your details.

Who else sees it

Form submissions pass through Cloudflare, which hosts this site and runs a spam check (Turnstile), and Resend, which delivers them to our inbox and sends you a confirmation email. Our mailbox is hosted by Purelymail. All three act on our instructions.

Cookies and website analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they use. It sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location and the type of device and browser you use. Google processes this data for us. We don't use it to identify you.

Google Analytics only runs if you click Accept on the cookie message. If you click Reject, no analytics cookies are set. We store your choice in a small cookie called tfc_consent for six months, so we don't ask on every page. You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.

How long we keep it

If you don't become a client, we delete enquiry details after 12 months. Client records are kept for 6 years for tax and legal purposes.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
